How Sports And Music Companies Benefit From Corporate Products

By Alfred Lambert

There are businesses that highly benefit from the profits that corporate products bring. Without question, these merchandise help the company improve even though these are not their main items for sale. Two industries that get huge earnings from merchandise are sports and music due to the interest of fans and more people joining the bandwagon.

Though ticket sales is the main source of earnings for sports teams, the business will not endure on that alone. Thus, they sell merchandise which carry the team's name, logo and color. Sports jerseys sell like hotcakes and the money collected from it goes to the operational expenses of the team. Aside from owning the sport shirt of their favourite player, fans would also get autographed memorabilia, team shirts, caps and even luggage.

To make the money flow for the whole year, sports teams sell items that are appropriate for various seasons like coats for winter and swimwear for summer. For their younger fans, the franchises also put up team mascot stuffed toys and player cards for sale. The stronger and better the fan base of a team, the larger the income from corporate products.

Meanwhile, music companies do not rely on just the album sales of their artists. They also produce magazines and video collections that every avid admirer of the featured artist should have. The video collections may include official music videos, interviews or all-access footages that a die-hard follower would do anything to watch.

Aside from these items, music companies also sell authentic paraphernalia of their artists and even dolls. When these are offered for sale, whether on store shelves or online, the loyal fans will not think twice to buy. Indeed, the corporate products that sports teams and music companies sell drive their operations to greater heights. But then again, the tide of profit can turn sour if the bad play of the team stretches for a while or if the musician is tagged with downbeat publicity.
